A shame many of the modern lenses aren’t available in the US. All the enhanced monofocal or EDoF IOL options on the European market offer quite a high quality and vision range without side effects or loss in contrast or other refractive “surprises”. LENTIS Comfort for instance, segmental EDoF, offers great vision near and intermediate. Mostly no need for glasses after surgery. No side effects like halo or glare. That’s a great lens imo

Almost all reviews on YouTube forget to explain the different costs of regular lenses vs enhanced lenses. I’m on Medicare and there’s not many choices for the elderly on fixed incomes. Take it or leave it. I had the cataract in my right eye done about two weeks ago and the Alcon (Clareon IOL), +13.5 D was placed in my eye (going for mono-vision). The cost difference was $260.00 on Medicare, but the ‘deluxe’ lens would cost $2600.00. Couldn’t afford that.

Clareon PanOptix in one eye and Eyhance in the other set for -0.5. Don’t have much astigmatism but don’t want toric lens. Don’t like the diamond effect with PanOptix but the range might be worth it. Also binocular summation is real. Long term effects of LAL are unknown so a little hesitant. Great video again.

Good Advice. Well explained. Since my surgery 2 years ago I no longer use reading glasses. I am 54 years old and went with the mono vision. No halos at night.

Thanks for the information. I'm not ready for cataract surgery. I still have 9-10 years. I do have some double vision. Is there anything presently or in the near future that deals that deals with this? I did monovision with gas perms for years. Later on I switched to soft lenses and eventually the ability to do monovision wasn't a choice. My left eye is my dominant eye. Therefore, my right eye was the one for up close vision. It is my right eye that jumps when testing for double vision. Does years of monovision relate to double vision in the future? I'm just curious. Is there a solution for my situation without wearing glasses? I do have astigmatism and have always worn a toric lenses. Thanks for your time.

Are these still applicable for someone with a previous victrectory, cataract surgery, and yag capsulotomy? I am currently using a toric iol from j and j but it's awful and I am looking to get a lens exchange because I can hardly see under any condition. I'm 35.

Well, if we're putting cost aside, (don't I wish) I'd go with A- and most of the time not have to use readers. I spend most of my time on a computer, and I HATE wearing glasses, which is why I wear multi-focal contact lenses which also correct my astigmatism. As it stands, I haven't had great distance vision in many years due to choosing a happy medium between distance vision and not having to wear readers most of the time. However, the cataract in my right eye has gotten so bad that it pretty much renders my right eye useless for most activity. I can no longer read street signs when driving; even on clear sunny days. I'm told at 55 years old I'm a bit young to need cataract surgery, so... lucky me, right? Although I've read about a lot of younger people having cataracts as well, there's that.

When are lenses like fluid vision, juvene, or jellisee coming to market?

Getting my left eye done next Tuesday,And just wondering in your opinion/experience is the newest version of the the Clareon Panoptix any better than the AcrySof version when it comes to halos/glare.. Thanks for all you doing...

I can't seem to find a surgeon who uses the non-Toric version of the Eyhance, especially using manual surgery that insurance will pay for. Is there a way to find such surgeons in my area (Dallas/Fort Worth)? Gatekeepers at the clinics often don't know or don't seem to want to provide that information.

What about the AcrySof toric lens for astigmatism? Have you had any experience with that one?

I just got a Vivity in my right eye, and a Panoptix in my left. The Vivity is very natural vision (no halos or any side effects). With that said, the quality of focus is less than, say 100%; and I can't really see well enough to use my cell phone or even laptop. This is why I chose the Panoptix for my left eye. The Panoptix provides much better vision (far, mid, and closeup), but I see halos at night (at distances beyond 100'), and the worst of it is that I see disturbances (halos or crescent moons) from light entering my eye obliquely (windows while watching TV, overhead fluorescent lights at the grocery store, etc. I might try yellow filtered glasses for night driving. A Vivity lens that provided the vision and focus of the Panoptix would be the ultimate; sadly, it does not exist.

What about the world’s first trifocal lens FineVision with glistening free material. Also, new IsoPure premium monofocal - distance vision with some intermediate. No buttons, rings or finding dominant eye? Your thoughts?
