Have this same model in SS. Got it over 3 years ago for $89 on sale at frys.
I have the same unit. It works good for drinks, but for cooler ice, not so well. It's ice none the less, but because the cubes are hollow, they don't last as long as solid cubes for coolers. If you are planning a day out on the beach on a hot day, don't expect the hollow cubes to last like regular solid cubes if you own a Yetti cooler, maybe no big deal.

I hate ice from the built in ice makers, because it’s just too hard. I took mine out for more space and also ordered a countertop top bullet ice maker from Amazon 2 years ago. I love it! Can’t wait for a more affordable option for nugget ice!
Good video and I trust the Frigidaire brand. I have 2 questions if you don't mind. If you leave the ice in the maker will the machine keep it cold and is there any water in the cells of the ice that could dilute a drink? Thanks for sharing, very competent review!
My friend has one , in fact it was in use at a party this weekend, it makes ice about every 7 minutes, pretty fast, and the ice compartment isn’t chilled, so if you don’t dump the ice out into a bucket, it will just melt back into the reservoir and be used again , can’t go wrong with it
We’ve had two of these. If you use them every day they last for about 6 months. They’ll need cleaning every so often. The ‘add water’ button never worked on either of our two units.
Congratulations on 385K views! I watched this video before I bought the Frigidaire countertop ice maker at Costco a couple months ago. I bought a Frigidaire side by side refrigerator this year and it DOES NOT produce enough ice. The countertop ice maker makes the same amount of ice in three hours as the refrigerator ice maker does in two days. The refrigerator has the ice dispenser in the door, so I just dump the ice from the countertop model into the refrigerator ice bin and dispense it through the door as needed. Thanks for making this review.
Due to 8 people in the household that love ice constantly, our built in ice maker in the fridge was always empty. I have the SS version of this one and it is a godsend. When the ice maker in the fridge is running low, we just dump the basket from the portable one into the fridge basket and we always have enough. Between the two, we always have plenty of ice. The bullet cubes are easier to chew on as well.
I purchased one of these from Costco spring 2022. After I used it for the first time I thought, " Where have you been all my life!" I LOVE IT. it makes ice waaaaay faster than my ice maker in the freezer. In addition, I drink distilled or filtered water so I can use my own water to make the ice

I have the same unit. Paid $4 for it after using gift cards from work. The only drawback is the ice melts super fast once it’s in a cup and I only ever put mine in a tumbler so it makes even less sense.

I just bought one. It's the 4th ice maker I've purchased in 5 years. I usually just leave them on 24/7 and I now realize that's a bad idea and probably why they don't last too long. This is my first Frigidaire brand, but, to be honest, the ice basket, scoop, and other hardware is identical to the other brands. My previous two ice makers were Insignia from Best Buy and my first one was an Igloo brand. The Igloo brand lasted the longest, about 1 and a half years of 24/7, and had better insulation than the Insignia, which is a plus point if you forget to turn it off or are too busy/lazy to transfer the ice to the freezer compartment of your refrigerator. I like the idea that you mentioned in this video of storing the ice in a gallon ziplock bag - that's a great idea. I currently store it in the ice tray from the first Insignia. I believe that the ice trays are interchangeable and I may just transfer the baskets in and out if I'm in a hurry. If I am going to have guests I will use your idea of the zip-lock bag. We have been using this model for a few years. A couple things to be aware of...You do need to take it apart and clean the area where the water sits both the reservoir and the tray that holds the water when making ice...and you may need to clean built up lint where the fan is.
