Thank you so much! Your video was very helpful. We were trying to figure out why the thermostat was heating when we program it to cool. We programmed it in the wrong way.
Gracias por compartir tu talento con nosotros!
Your video just got my heat back on as I had inadvertently changed one of the Advanced Settings which shut down my heater only gas furnace. Thanks to you I'm warm again. Thank you very much!
This was incredibly helpful! Thanks so much!
Hi Mr. Matt I’m not sure what the settings were before the changes started because I never used the heat as much as this year, which has been pretty cold. I appreciate you contacting me back. I saved your video as a reference because your explanation was easier for me to follow. Thanks again.
Before you turn off the heat strip and change function 1 from 5 to 1, you need to check function 6 to see if it is at the default of 5 for gas and oil furnace less than 90% efficient, as evidence by your thermostat in this video. As that would make the thermostat think you have cheap auxiliary heating from gas and will run the auxiliary heating all the time not knowing that it is expensive electric heating. If it is at the default setting of 5, then you need to set it to 9 so the thermostat know you have expensive heat strip as auxiliary heating and it will try to run the heat pump more often. But if you turn off the heat strip, then when it gets really cold, you won't have the heat strip to help supplement the heat pump to warm the room up quickly when needed. Try that first before turning off the heat strip.
Thanks for the tips. My thermostat wasn't going the the scheduled temperature, So I went into the setting you showed how to get into and changed my 1 setting. Heat kicked in right away. Setting was 1 and 0. I set it to 1 and 1. Hope this winter ends soon. It is springtime!
Omg thank you so much! That crazy auxiliary heat was driving me nuts! Couldn’t figure out how to turn it off! Finally got it disabled from watching this video!
Hello I want to thank you! The video was exactly what I was looking for my bill was almost 500 dollars! Its been using the coils. Now I can't wait to see what the next bill will be! Be blessed
Hello, thank you for the video. Can you explain what the ac does when it's on auxiliary mode? What exactly do the heat strips do and how does it make your electricity bill higher? Thank you.
Thank you, thank you. This helped and I can do this knowing what I am doing!
Hello there ! I have a question my thermostat for cooling is in 1 and 0. I am wondering if that is the reason 1. The temperature is so different upstairs and downstairs ? 2. My bill is really high. Any suggestion for the advance settings ? Thank you in advance.
I just installed the Honeywell Home FocusPro TH6320R along with the THM5320R equipment interface module (EIM). After having successfully linked the two and gone through the thermostat setup, I notice that under the “System” panel I am able to toggle through “Heat,” “Cool,” and “Off,” but not “Auto,” which the manual indicates is an option. Any idea why I’m not seeing that as an option? Many thanks! Excellent tutorial, btw.
I followed your video. Now, even in cool, it blows hot air. I had the thermostat set at 63, and it climbed all the way to 83. I had to change setting one to “cool only” in order to stop from dying from heat stroke in my own home. Could you explain why this happened?
Been wrestling with this thing for weeks. This worked. Thank you
Thank you!! I messed with the setting it went down hill till your video helped me fix the problem
Thank you! When I forgot to set functions, I watch you
Thanks for making this video man i would never of known ..my first electric bill (over$1k) brought me here.
I'd like to set the thermostat to go on at 5:30 am at 74 degrees and the manually adjust it all day. It is off all night. Is there a way to do that? Do you do one on one zoom or phone sessions?
You save me some money, thank you!
