Having had this dryer (series 4 but still a heat pump Bosch) for a while, I much prefer it to really any other drier, simply because it looks after clothes so much better. I think the heat inside only gets up to 40-50c depending on the ambient temperature, where as conventional driers literally cook the clothes, shrink elastic bands and pill garments while stretching them out of shape. I’m happy to wait 2.5 hours for dry clothes if it has used 1/3 the energy and actually protecting my laundry lol
Thank you. I've been very frustrated with my clothes remaining damp. I've read the manual over and over but I'll take on your tips. It seems I've had a universal problem.
Thank you for this very helpful video, we recently bought the series 6 in Spain and I’d been pretty disappointed with its performance (especially with bedsheets) and as all the buttons and the manual are in Spanish I wasn’t sure how to fix the problem, I started watching another video which I cut short after the guy began pulling out screwdrivers (our machine is brand new!), yours was the second video on the list and I’m so happy as it was such a simple fix, sheets are dry and kids beds are made, thanks again!.
If Bosch made dryers with a reverse tumble action, bedding wouldn’t roll itself up as bad and would dry better and quicker and therefore be more economical.
I had this dryer for about 5 years and with your video it's actually drys much better now
Cheers for this I have the Bosch serie 4 heatpump tumble dryer and was always using the “cupboard dry” mode with max drying level and towels and bed sheets were still damp after finishing. I would rerun the same cycle and would go on for another 5 minutes and then stop. This works way better!
The fluff filter must be cleaned every time. The fine mesh will block and will not let moisture pass through the condenser. So moisture stays in the drum. I clean the filter under running water and rub the mesh between my finger to remove the build up of limescale from the filter. If you can blow through the mesh and feel, the air pass through, it’s clear. Got this tip from reading the comments on another you tube vid.
you could also use the dryness level to increase the heat
Thanks for the useful info . I just bought one from a lady who used it twice and said it never dried properly . Usual excellent Bosch quality , just a bit surprised that they did not pick up a problem with drying items properly or resolve the tangling issues during testing .... surely they actually test an appliance before it is let loose on the general public ?
Thank you so much, great information
I have just bought a Bosch series 4 heat pump dryer and I'm extremely dissatisfied with it. They have made it so energy efficient it is useless for drying clothes. I'm surprised such a reputable manufacturer would sell this as a high quality product and at such a high price. Something is wrong somewhere. I've used mine only 4 times and I want them to take it back and give me a refund. The dryer is useless.
On the inside opening, there are deep holes all around, that face the drum. I pulled heaps of built up fluff out of them all! Is there a sensor in one of these, bc it's drying much better now
What an Easter egg at 3 minutes and 45 seconds I really laughed my ass off
Nice video very informative...I have the same machine...can you please do a video of how to check moisture sensor and basic cleaning and checking of the dryer. Thank you!!
Thanks for sharing, will give it a try, but I think this machine has design issue and I haven't get any dry load after each cycle....
Yes, I have this issue and Im just feed up with damp sheets/towels/jeans etc, while I agree we all should read the manual but there should be a simple sticker and directions clear and that it works.....thanks for the above lets see can I avoid getting a new machine (not Bosch, if this does not work)
My biggest problem with these is the design is absolutely horrendous for long term use. After about 2.5 years i noticed the drying time significantly increased (got to the point of taking 7hrs to dry a single load at the 3 yr mark).. i had cleaned all 3 filters every load.. i pulled it apart which is definitely not designed for average users (about 40 torx screws, removing the entire drum and horrible plastic clips over the evaporator).. the ENTIRE dryer was caked on the inside with lint. Literally every nook and cranny.. really lucky this didn't start a fire.. ive worked on many very OLD standard dryers and never found anywhere near this level of lint. Anyway it took a few hours to clean, now it's good as new.. but seriously this means the average user would have to fork out a few hundred dollars for a service tech after warranty expires, or buy a new dryer.. disgusting way to fleece customers out of money. Highly recommend avoiding bosch heat pump dryers to anyone considering unless you are happy to waste a few hours of ur time every couple of years!
Thank you so much!
My brand new series 6, the compressor doesn't even start. I've had the same machine elsewhere without any issues, so seems too be a build issue.
