I love my PT-D600VP! It's a bit bulky so not the best portable choice, but it can run on AC power or batteries, so that's something. Also, there are a lot of third party manufacturers who make labels compatible with all Brother models (just look for TZe-compatible labels). The quality seems to be on par with Brother-branded labels, and they are far cheaper at $3-6 per cartridge.

Thanks for the review. Anyone has an idea how many labels you can print in our cartridge ? I just want to compare the cost benefits of this one with buying avery tags and printing in your own inkjet brother ekotank printer where the ink is really cheap. Thanks for helping me out here.

Informative video, THANK YOU. I just got one of these label makers and after I get it out of the box I will need to contact Brother about drivers and software for windows 10 and windows 10 Enterprise. THANKS AGAIN.

This is very helpful. It's the only one I've seen that actually gives any detail about connecting the labelmaker to my computer. Wish you could make one that covers the steps in downloading the software from HP, navigating the options , making and saving the template. Thanks.

Hey Tom, I bought this label maker and I also echo you praise of this machine, it is absolutely awesome, what makes it so great is the versatility. I have had other label makers, but none of them are even close to the versatility, ease of use and quality of this product. I have found that you can get some great prices on Amazon when it comes to purchasing the ink cartridges. Thanks for posting this review, more RC pilots need to know about this fantastic product.

How much?

I have to echo your endorsement on the Brother label makers, Tom. I have an earlier generation version that isn't as user friendly as the current models, but it still gets used a lot on my boat to label the seemingly endless wires, tubing, etc. When/if it ever quits (it's more than 10 years old) I'll buy another in a heartbeat.
